What We Do

The Polk County Outreach Ministries, Inc., p/w Zion Hill First Baptist Church is committed to helping the people throughout the Polk County Georgia area and surrounding counties, meeting them at their point of need. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families, providing opportunities that will lead to self-sufficiency and self-worth. We provide services to children, youth, individuals, families, the disabled and elderly without regards to race, age, gender, ethnicity and national origin.

How We Make A Difference

Our primary goal is to facilitate collaborations among community partners to provide services, information and resources to children, youth, individuals, families, the elderly and disabled. Partnering with the Polk County School District and Vanwert Elementary School, Triangle Foods, Kroger and Walmart Stores have enabled us to feed more than 100 individuals and families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays and manage our Food Bank. Working with The Support and Education Enhancement Team provide an opportunity for children and youth throughout Polk County to experience Summer  Education Enrichment, After-School Tutorial, G.E.D. completion, and continued Learning and Literacy for children, youth and adults. Partnering with the Royal Neighbors of America Foundation has provided an opportunity for hosting a Women’s Empowerment Brunch, encouraging  women to step into their greatness to make a difference in the community. Working with other agencies like Angel Express, Sams Club, and Donations, help us to provide food and toys for families and individuals for Christmas. We host an Annual Book Fair to help improve literacy and reading for children and individuals. We serve as referral agents to help individuals with social, human, health care, mental health and medical needs. Reaching out to others is what we do to make a difference.  We have a Food and Clothing Bank on site for those in need of food and clothing. We also provide continuous educational, job training, financial assistance education and Christian education to all.
